One More Step Taken

burning

I don’t think I’m fully able to comprehend Nadine’s passing away right now but it starts to sink in with every step taken. Today I went to Leinfelden for the last time and watched her cremation. Around 9 a.m. her coffin was carted into an oven with about 700 degrees centigrade. I caught a view of how it started to burn but the gate had to be closed then because of the immense heat. After about two hours her body will be reduced to ashes.

I did not let open the coffin again because I already said these kind of goodbyes last week. Since then life is a mixture between some calm kind of deep sadness and pure crying.

Time To Say Thank You

supportcards

During the last 13 months (or even longer), Nadine and I received so much support from family and friends all over the world: cards, e-mails, blog-comments, phone-calls, little gifts and helpful visits. I think it is the time now to say a big THANK YOU! What you did always meant very much to us.

I still receive cards and stuff but their content has of course changed. I’m grateful for all condolences and consolations made, but I don’t want to go into detail now and will come back to them later.

Please let me refresh my invitation to Nadine’s funeral service on February 10th at 11 a.m. at the Waldfriedhof Stuttgart-Degerloch.  Make sure you get the adress right, there’s more than one Waldfriedhof in and around Stuttgart. I hope to see as many of you as possible there.

Backlog Demand

bestpicture

Tonight it will be one week since Nadine left us and I just realized that I never showed the most beautiful picture of her on this blog. And I too realized that I never used the song called “Nadine” an old friend told me about once. Strange, isn’t it?
