Final Resting Place

Nadine is buried at the foot of a hemlock at the Waldfriedhof Stuttgart-Degerloch. You can go there by car but I recommend the classic way with the ancient cable car. To do this, you need to travel by public transport (U1, U14, U21) to Südheimer Platz. From there, a cable car will carry you uphill to the Waldfriedhof every twenty minutes.

Her tree is located centrally in the old part of the graveyard in section 5, quite close to the entrance and the hall. Pass the hall on the right hand side and walk down the path marked with the milestone V. You will reach her tree after about 100 meters. It’s number is 3108, but you will propably spot her nametag first. Please note that decoration is only tolerated on a very limited scale and should be kept natural.

The Waldfriedhof is home to many celebrities, for example Germany’s first President Theodor Heuss. His grave is just across the central lawn opposite of Nadine’s tree – watch out for the flags. If you want to follow the celebrity thing you will find a guide in the cable car station or you can download an app.

If you prefer a little pilgrimage, you might follow the Blaustrümpflerweg, a pedstrian walkway of 7,5 kilometers around the south of Stuttgart that includes not only a ride with the ancient cable car but one with the cog railway too. Starting at the cemetery gates you can also choose the Joseflesweg, a roundway of about 4 kilometers.
