Nadine received lots of flowers, cards, e-mails and blog postings for her birthday – thank you very much! We also got many requests for visits and her close ones are on a tight schedule now. Which is a good thing, because Nadine appreciates to meet her loved ones.

But I need to make clear to all visitors that nobody can tell what to expect. Maybe Nadine is quite lively like she was on her birhday or maybe she will be asleep for hours and won’t even realize that you’re around. Or maybe you catch a time in which she might appear weird to you.

wir haben uns 2015 in Freiburg bei der Reha kennengelernt. Es war eine schöne, fröhliche und unbeschwerte Zeit, in der auch obiges Schildkröten-Selfie entstanden ist. Wir haben tolle Ausflüge gemacht. Theater, Kino, mit dem Fahrrad durch und um Freiburg herum. Gemütliche Cafes aufgesucht, Kunstausstellungen und bummeln.

Auch die anschließenden Treffen bei mir in Reutlingen und bei dir in Stuttgart waren immer so nett und unterhaltsam.

Nadine, my friend, here I am sitting on the floor of my living room, having taken the box with the old photos from the shelf and making a journey back in time. Diving into memories of our years together. Growing up in our home town, leaving the nest and creating our lives as adults. Being closer and being more distant.

And still, one thing always remained the same. Even when meeting after a longer period, it has been like we had only left each other yesterday. Your talent of creating comfort and ease in being with you, feeling familiar again in an instant, what a gift you have given in this to me – and probably to all of us. Being connected from the heart. The soul. So easily. I keep a candle burning for you.
