Gorgeous Hats

Winter has finally arrived. Bad news is that it’s pretty cold around here now and bald-headed Nadine desperately needs to wear hats or caps. Good news is that we’ve got a tremendous variety of those and that she looks gorgeous wearing them!

Chemotheraphy starts

Nadine is looking forward to visiting an art therapy group at the Katharinenhospital tomorrow. It takes place every Wednesday and is open for released patients too. Above you can see the final piece of work she did during her rehabilitation at a clinic in Freiburg last year.

Another process that is going to begin soon is her chemotheraphy. We met the doctor in charge today and he wants to start next week. He told us that it won’t be as aggressive as last time and side effects are supposed to be minor. She will be treated on two out of three Tuesdays for about one hour per session. The end remains open, a check in April will decide wether it’s going to be continued, changed or settled.

Let’s hope for the best!

Regaining Strength

Four weeks in hospital take their toll on fitness – even though they have some options there that allow you to exercise. Back home now, it is important that Nadine becomes active in every way she can. This includes everyday duties as well as some workout. She does yoga and gymnastics and we went for a brief walk around our neighbourhood yesterday. The plan is to repeat these walks and to increase the distance on a daily basis.

In order to restore Nadine’s vitality, physical exercise is crucial. But she also needs spiritual energy. Therefore, she wants to continue music and art therapy that she started in hospital. And she gains a lot from the support various people are sending her. Two days ago, we received a self-made ‘energy-garland’ by a friend of ours:
